Lhasa City Tour with Yamdrok Yumtso Lake

Day 1. Arrive in Lhasa
Upon arrival at Lhasa Gongga airport or Lhasa Train Station, our representative will greet you and transfer you to our hotel. We will take a good rest for the breathtaking tour in Tibet.

Day 2. Lhasa (B)
Today we will visit Jokhang Temple, one of the oldest temples at the heart of Lhasa. Afterwards, visit Potala Palace, the symbol of Tibet culture and history. It is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. Later we will wander on Barkhor Street for experiencing the lifestyle of Tibetan people. Tibetan art and traditional work are outlet for sale on this street. We also have some free time to explore the holy city of Lhasa.

Day 3. Lhasa-Yamdrok Yumtso Lake (B)
Today we will drive about 2 hours to visit Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, one of the important holy lakes in Tibet. On the way, we will enjoy the natural view of Tibet plateau. In the evening, return to Lhasa.

Day 4. Lhasa Departure (B)
After breakfast, we will be transferred to the airport for our next destination.

The upcoming 2014 is the year of horse in Tibetan calendar, occurring every twelve years. According to Tibetan tradition, Buddhists make pilgrimage to holy mountains in the year of horse and to holy lakes in the year of sheep. As the most sacred mountains in Tibet, Mount Kailash in western Tibet receives much more visitors than usual in such a year, especially during Saga Dawa Festival which is held at the Kailash region annually in each April in Tibetan calendar (around May or June in western calendar). The Saga Dawa Kailash tour is also considered as the most interesting and authentic tour event in western Tibet each year. In 2014, the holiest year at this region, the event will be more attractive for visitors. The Kailash is expected to witness over 60,000 pilgrims and visitors in 2014.

Kailash is around 1300km west of Tibet, Kailash is considered the one of the holy mountain in the world, Kailash deserves your visit if you get a holiday around 13 or 15 days, for the road condition of western Tibet has been greatly improved in recent years. Most of the roads are tarred so that even cars and mini-buses are transitable and less time is spent on the road. and the NEW airport was established in western Tibet, tourists can fly to there within 3 hours.
